Overclock decently even with stock cooler, would prolly OC even better with a cooler that spits air out the back instead of right back into the case. Good performance for the price far as DX10 goes. Pros: DX10 on an AGP board for under 100 bucks. What it is important is the quality of the psu. If my psu unit is 300w maximum, u can clearly see i dont need a 400 psu or nothing alike.

So the total power my pc was consuming was 165 w/hour, the equivalent of 2 light bulbs. To your surprise the card was only spending 24 watts/hour my monitor 40w, cpu 65w, hard drives(3) 25w,ect. It has nothing to do with vcards analysis but it has a small feature were it tells u the power ur system is consuming. If u dont believe me get a little program called local cooling. In fact I seriously doubt that any of the so called "monster video cards "actually consume more than 150 w. IT is a common fallacy to think psu affects performance. All of them installed perfectly and gave me no trouble at all.Īlso u dont need a 400 w PSU. ATi's agp hotfix, the cd drivers, his's web page drivers, all in search of a better performance.

Overall Review: I have installed all the drivers i could find. All of this using cpu cycles and avoiding cpu's data transmission to the Gpu. All from character movements, enemy's AI, physics, animations, path finding ect.In fact there can be a thousand scripts running at same time.
(=1400)Ĭons: I bought the card mainly to test if cpu is trully that important for games.I own an Ahlon xp 3200 overclocked at ~2435 mhz(stock 2200).I had a x1650 clocked at 600 gpu 400 ddr2 memory, 12 pixels pipelines and thought it was the cause of my low fps on certain games.The results of my experiment were somehow expected.I found out that on certain games cpu can hold u back while on others not so cpu stressfull the video card can be the problem.When playing a game, game data is loaded into memory where cpu can acces it faster.Then cpu passes all video related calculations to gpu where it is processed and sent to your display.Thats why i had the idea that my low fps had to do with my gpu not my cpu.However, there is much more in a game than just graphics calculations. I installed the cd drivers and worked like a charm.Card's specs are correct 800 gpu 700 memory ddr3. I was prepared 4 a long driver struggle becuse of all of the negative reviews, but it wasnt the case. Pros: Card Worked perfectly out of the box.
the heat will fry your card if you run it to long burning it up without the driver.

if your looking to add new life to your old agp computer till you can upgrade this card is the way to go.ive had this card for 5 months and have not had any problems with it at all.Ĭons: Dont run this card without the driver it heats up 100+ without the proper n your old card till you find and download the proper driver.dont use the supplyd driver on the cd that came with it.go to amd (Radeons)websight and download only the agp hotfix thats for your operating includes catalyst control center.right after you install the agp hotfix driver restart your computer and your good to go.dont block the air flow with a big bulky soundcard in the slot right underneath it i did that at first and it brought the temp up 19 degrees more.now after diong all this my vid card runs at 52 degrees with the core overclocked to 860 and the memory overclocked to 1600.in the future if your reformating your os run your old card till your done and put this card in after you have the driver ready to install. really silent thermal controlled fan.can play crysis now at mid to high settings and battlefield 2 with all the settings on high with a 60 fps with this card and a penteum 4 2.0 and 3 gigs of pc133 sdram.
